Affordable addiction outpatient services
MAPS for recovery was founded after the passing of Dr. David Jones, who was the man behind the POPPS opiate addiction clinic.
Lynn E. Lytton, MD is the driving force behind MAPS. She started her medical career working with lower income patients in nursing homes, feeling that her training and degree was best used in service to the people who needed quality medical care the most. She was introduced to addiction medicine by Dr. Jones, and felt an immediate connection with the patient population. We currently are not accepting insurance with our affordable options available.

What We Believe
We believe that addiction is a combination of issues including brain chemistry, genetics and trauma history.
We believe that addiction is not a moral failing. It is not an indication of your worth as a person.
We believe that recovery happens best in a relationship with others, and that a relationship of caring between the medical team and the patient is crucial to recovery.
We believe that since addiction is a combination of many factors, not every treatment is going to work for every person. While complete abstinence might be the best option for one person, others might need long term or perhaps even perpetual medication support and that needing medication is not a moral or spiritual failing.
We believe that anyone trying to be better deserves support and respect. Recovery is hard and it takes a brave person to do it.
We believe that you can do it. You might need help, it might take time, you might have setbacks but we believe you can recover.
Lynn E. Lytton, MD
MAPS Founder and Addiction Doctor
Lynn E. Lytton, MD is a born and bred Texan. Her treatment philosophy is that addiction is a medical problem and should be treated as such, and using shame, guilt, or blame for the illness makes as much sense as using shame, blame or guilt with cancer. On the other hand, people are 100% accountable for the hurt they caused while in the grips of addiction, and much of the counseling that is provided is how to improve yourself and make meaningful amends to the people you’ve hurt.

I found the staff professional and kind, explaining the process to me every step of the way. I understand myself more clearly now and have begun to make positive changes in my life. There was such a high level of customer service.
